Academic & Athletic Balance

Successful applicants must demonstrate a commitment to both their studies and their sport, mirroring the dedication Blake showed through his time at Richmond County and Furman University.

High School Senior graduating from Richmond County

Active participation in competitive golf or other varsity sports

Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Letter of recommendation from a coach or instructor

Who is eligible for the scholarship?

A candidate for the Scholarship must meet the following criteria:

Have a high school grade point average of no less than 3.0.
Have been a member of a high school golf team in the CSRA for at least one season. (Public and private schools that are within the CSRA). Schools must permit a representative of the Foundation Board to present the Scholarship at their School Awards Assembly.
Be accepted and plan to attend a four (4) year college or university.
Must not be the recipient of a full athletic or academic scholarship. All financial aid from any source must be disclosed.

What is the typical award amount?

The scholarship amount will be for the first year of college only and will be awarded to an incoming college freshman.

The scholarship funding will be used for the sole purpose of reimbursing the recipient for tuition, books, and fees. Cost of room / board and / or transportation are not included. In the unlikely event that the amount of the scholarship more than pays for the college related expenses, the scholarship recipient may petition the Foundation to use excess funds for other expenses.

Can the scholarship be used for any university?

Yes, scholarship may be used for the first year at any 4 year college or university.
